Little Earthquakes

I was unable to catch up on GH until tonight.  Friday's episode, while lacking JaSam, was still pretty good. This was the first time in a couple of weeks, I actually sat down to watch the entire show.  There were a fair share of little earthquakes rocking Port Charles these days.

Michael's had a fair share of earthquakes rocking his world recently.   Michael has been handling Abby's death without the most maternity or patience.  The one person who actually got through to Michael on Friday was Jax.  Jax finally played a key role in Michael's life.  Jax always wanted to take over being Michael's father but finally he did the most fatherly thing ever to Michael.  He treated Michael as an equal.  He actually sat down and talked to Michael.  Now the two of them kept their fair share of secretes from one another but at least they were honest about somethings.  But something to note, I don't know what is scarier Michael with a gun or Jax.  Neither one of them have a clue what they are doing.

One of the little earthquakes that rocked Port Charles this week was, of course, the wedding of Anthony and Tracy.  I found it classic that Tracy and Maxie simultaneously realized they were both being blackmailed by Anthony.   Oh and a wedding is what we got. Luke showed up at the last minute Friday and Tracy was sure he was going to swoop in and stop everything.  But he didn't.  Tracy's made 9 trips down the isle but this one was one I think we'll all remember.  Tracy seems to get a loving nickname from each one of her recent husbands, Spanky and now Venus.  Tracy's expressions were classic today.  I really haven't laughed this hard in a long time.  Oh but nothing could quite tell the story like those wedding photos did.  There is always something missing when Luke and Tracy aren't on our screens.  No one can pull off the humor that these two do.  Now they have thrown in Anthony and together those scenes are even more hilarious. How I truly adore the classic entertaining scenes that keep us watching like these.

Sonny and Luke uncovered quite the little earthquake on Friday about Johnny and Anthony.  There have been so many rumors flying around that Johnny's true mother was actually Claudia.  Sonny enjoyed going over to Johnny's way too much.  Honestly, what did Johnny ever do to tick Sonny off so much?  Okay he knew about Dominic/Dante but Sonny hated him even before then.  Johnny being Claudia's son still doesn't truly add up to me, honestly.  When did she have Johnny, what when she was 9 yrs old!?! So was Claudia Anthony's real daughter? That would make Johnny AZ's grandson so it isn't like he is completely removed from that insane bloodline.  Poor Johnny.  I love Johnny I think he is fantastically charismatic and a true delight to watch.

Robin and Patrick's little earthquake will be rocking their world for a long time. Robin's been living with this earthquake most of her life but she seemed to not understand that Patrick is in this with her...through sickness and health.  She should have told him, but she is right they would have all treated her differently knowing she was sick.  Patrick said it best when he said, "This decease does not steal who you are."  Watching Patrick and Robin today made me cry.  I am really going to miss Kimberly McCullough on GH.  Since Kimberly and I are the same age, I feel like we grew up together in someways.  She's been on the show ever since I have watched the show.  GH will just not be the same without her.

Something interesting to note: Emma is what 6 or 7 yrs old this month on GH. It does seem like every time we turn around she is getting re-cast or aged.  So why is it there is a high chair still in their house?  The average child gets out of a high chair at age 2, yet Emma's still sits in the corner.  Also when Elizabeth was madly cleaning up the toys for Patrick, she was picking up toys that were for a child that was less then a year old.  It's just entertaining.

The last earthquake but of course not the least was Jason and Sam.  Their earthquake has been, of course, the rape and the pregnancy.  Today I had imagined the scenes a bit differently but I did love that the two of them were there together.  Am I the only one that found it odd that Dr Lee didn't do a standard exam and find out how far along Sam was before doing this CBS test?  Now I know what most of you are thinking.  Dr Lee hasn't always been known to be an exceptionally observant  OBGYN.  After all, she did believe Maxie was pregnant with a pillow shoved down her shirt.  I was thinking after that experience, Dr. Lee would at least perform some short of exam.  But hey far be it from me to point out these minor details.  Let's not focus on that but rather the united union Jason and Sam were today.  They were both there for each other and are facing whatever happens together.  That is beautiful.  Jason was so concerned and scared you could tell.  He is so worried about Sam.   Jason is completely committed to Sam and this baby no matter who is the father.  Jason said it best,  "Whatever happens, you have me."  I can not wait for this week to unfold for Jason and Sam.  Keep your chin up, Elizabeth can't do anything to get Jason's attention.  Jason is completely 100% committed to Sam.  She is too busy blowing Robin's secretes out of the water to spend too much time to mess with Sam's test results we can only hope.

Keep watching and keep the faith!

What You've Always Wanted

As children, we often wish for great things like purple ponies and our houses to be made out of gingerbread only to discover that the reality of those wishes are not possible in this world.  As children we wonder why this isn't possible.  Why can't we have a purple pony and be a princess and then the next be a musketeer? As we grow we begin to realize that isn't realistic.  We become  more grounded to reality and with that we lose our vivid imaginations and wonder.  But even as an adult we wish for things do to often be different then they are.  We wish for world peace, we wish we could find the perfect sole mate, we wish for a better job and nicer house...the list goes on.  Often times as an adult your wishes do come true but in a very different form then you had originally thought.  You realize nothing is perfect, though.  Often times when we ask the universe for something it comes to us in a much different expected form then it we thought it would.  This is very true for our favorite characters of GH too.
Robin always wished and hoped she would find a great love again. She found all of her wishes came true with Patrick.  But what she didn't wish for was for crazy Lisa to enter their lives and wreck her one time perfect storybook like.  But they made it through.  They survived that storm only to be faced with a much more serious storm that this time may not have a happy ending.
For Sam her wish was always to have a baby with Jason.  Even when she was pregnant with Sonny's baby she and Jason planned to raise the child as their own.  As long as Sam has been in PC this has been her wish. But for so long Sam could not have a baby.  She longed for a chance to get pregnant and now she has her wish, she is pregnant.  But the paternity of that baby hangs over her head and is hindering her happiness.  Sometimes reality's version of your deepest heart's wish is a little different then what you had imagined.
Next week the journey for our couple begins.  Next week they begin to find out who is the father of this baby.  We all hope it is Jason (and it had better be).  But we can only hope and watch.  Watching is key.  Keep GH on the air - WATCH!.

Have a happy weekend all! Sorry for so few posts this week.  It's been quite a strange week in my personal life but glad it is the weekend.

Is GH becoming OLTL 2.0

I almost posted this on another site, but for fear of being scolded I decided to post this on my own site.  So I know I am usually extremely positive and try to find a positive spin on EVERYTHING but between yesterday's article that TPTB still haven't decided the future of GH and now today's announcement that a few of the OLTL characters are moving to PC, I feel the need to express my concern about all of this.
I have been trying to be overly enthusiastic about the new HW at GH.  Trying to think he will bring some new fresh ideas to GH which might help save the show.  But now I have had it!!!! We haven't even seen RC's work and maybe I am just cranky, but seriously I watch GH because it is GH not because I want it to become OLTL.  Honestly, OLTL has never been that awesome, in my opinion.  When it was announced it was being cancelled I wasn't completely shocked.  It has wacky story lines, bizarre characters, split personalities, characters coming back from the dead every week and a flare for giving soaps a bad name with its off the way storylines.  I mean seriously, how many times can someone come back from the dead?  NOW, they are announcing not 1 or 2 OLTL characters are moving to GH but now the whole Manning Family and John McBaine??? Really WTF??!

GH has enough characters as it is.  We have some LIW storyline that is really not that thrilling but has a slew of characters involved.  We have all the mob storylines, the doctors that keep popping up at the hospital, we don't need ANYMORE new characters.  Why not bring back characters from GH's past instead of adding OLTL to GH?  This is so irritating and upsetting.  Why can't anyone see GH has its own history, its own fans and its own flavor of greatness.  Why is RC so focused on making GH OLTL 2.0??  I have to say, while Guza did a lot of things that didn't please us. Even Guza would not have done this to GH.  Guza recognized GH is it's own show with it's own fans.  GW was amazing as HW.  Yes, some of the stories moved slower then expected but GH has been awesome lately and that is because we are still watching GW's work.  He knows GH and it's history.  He would never dream of trying to turn GH into another show.  Yet another reason I am really going to miss GW's work.  GW made GH better.  He married JaSam and he is giving us a JaSam baby so of course we love him.

I know in my heart RC isn't stupid enough to screw with his best couple of JaSam.  He knows the fan base is huge and we would go on strike if he did.  If he even thinks we all want a Port Charles soap reunion he better put down that crack pipe he is smoking and realize GH is it's own show.  We don't need any vampires flying around anymore!!! Kelly Monaco has matured so much as an actress pairing her with Michael Eaton would be an insult to her talent.  It would also be an insult to all of the entire GH fan base who have fought so hard to keep our couple together and get them where they are.    I honestly don't think RC is stupid enough to screw with his best couple, I honestly don't.   I am still just angry they are adding more characters and trying to turn our GH into something it is not.

I keep trying to understand why on earth TPTB would think this is a good idea.  I guess they are trying to pull in OLTL fans to watch GH.  But here is the truth, soap fans are extremely loyal and honestly I only watch OLTL occasionally but was never much of a fan.  It was way too wacky for me.  Most of the die hard OLTL fans probably won't start watch GH.  They will probably just turn off their TVs in the afternoons instead and go on with their lives much like AMC die-hard fans have done.  They aren't going to gain much I don't think by screwing with GH's storylines by adding 1/2 of Lanview to the cast.  All they are going to manage to do is to piss off faithful GH fans because no one will have very much airtime. I really hope I am wrong.   Honestly if the shoe was on the other foot, I as a life-long GH fan would not start watching another soap if GH was coming to an end.  I am not invested in any other soap's story lines and I would find it confusing to start watching any other soap.  I would probably just turn off the TV and start vacuuming and doing house work at that time everyday instead.  While my house would be spotless, I am grateful we don't have to deal with this reality yet.  GH is still alive and kicking! Let's keep it that way.

Maybe this will all work out to be a very good thing for GH and all the fans.  But right now I am just frustrated that RC can't see GH has it's own rich history and past characters that could be brought back instead of trying to make GH something it is not - OLTL.  GH has it's own ratings and they will soon soar too if JaSam were on more!.  OLTL ratings are only so good right now because it is ending and so everyone who once watched it is curious to see how it ends.

I would have been fine if they had announced Ted King was returning to GH because he was from GH.  That would be interesting to have another Alcazarre wondering around.  But again that is back to GH's own rich history.

Now more then ever we need to call, tweet, FB email and write letters to GH to let them know we want GH to remain GH NOT OLTL 2.0

Tomorrow I promise I will be more positive and optimistic, I am just not there today.

Moving Forward

As a new year is upon us, many of us make resolutions and try to look at things differently.  Sometimes with the end of one year and the start of another one, we reflect and close the door on some things and open new doors.  We move forward, we move on with our lives!

Lulu and Dante are finally moving forward it appears.  Lulu isn't chugging near the gallons of wine today as normal which is a nice change.  Lulu and Dante really should think about moving into Maxie and Lulu's apartment and giving Maxie Dante's place.  Dante's place is the side of my kitchen pantry. Today's Lulu and Maxie scenes would have been so much better if Kirsten Storms was in the scenes.  I can't wait until she returns to GH.

Michael isn't exactly moving forward with his life is he these days but he is moving in a direction, a self destructive idiotic direction, but never the less it is a direction.   I have been wondering what the heck Michael is thinking lately.  I think I have figured it out.  He wants to get into the business so he can trash his life and maybe get killed as quickly as possible.  That way he thinks he can be with Abby again. But we all know that Abby would never want him to do this.  The best way to honor Abby and prove her life really mattered by living his life honestly and safe which is all she ever wanted for Michael.  But let's not forget he is only 20 yrs old and an extremely immature 20 at that.  Michael is a spoiled little brat who has never been grateful for anything he has been given to him.  Right now they are writing Michael very true to his character and history.  This is one of those moments I wish they would STOP repeating history and actually give Michael a purpose other then being an absolute idiot and ass.  Johnny, on the other hand, is an intelligent guy.  Johnny was raised in the business but unlike Michael, Johnny grew up! Johnny isn't an immature little punk.  Johnny even tried to help Michael.  Maybe working for Johnny won't be the worst thing but working for Anthony would be.  Johnny already has one lose canon (his father) the last thing he needs is another one.  Johnny is trying to keep the peace and run is business, why on earth we he want not just one crazy hot head but two.  Plus don't forget Michael comes with an intense spider web of strings attached.  Michael is one headache Johnny should not take on.

Spinelli is moving on too today.  While sometimes he annoys me, I have always liked Spinelli's character. In November of  2006 Jason and Sam's relationship grew by 1. They never saw Spinelli as a 3rd wheel.  He was in so many ways their first child.  Even when Jason and Sam fell apart in 2007 and 2008, Spinelli was both of their friends.  In some ways you can say Spinelli was on the of reasons Jason and Sam started working back together.  In 2009 when Spinelli was in trouble, JaSam teamed up again to save him.  He has always been extremely important to them and their relationship.  today when he moved out, I was a little sad myself.  He really should move into Sam's old apartment or across the hall from Mr. and Mrs. Stonecold.  But I wonder if it isn't just a coincidence that Lulu is moving out and there will a spot he can live with his sole mate? Hum...it makes you wonder.  Again can't wait until Kirsten is back on GH because then those Spixie scenes will sparkle right now NotMaxie just isn't making them magical.
So much like parents feel like when their oldest child leaves the nest, Jason and Sam watched today as Spinelli left the PH for the last time as a resident.  Their first child is all grown up and going out into the world on his own and in Spinelli's case with his FOS. I love that neither of them are at all concerned that Spinelli might be getting in to some serious trouble with his FOS.  I miss the old Spinelli.  I wish the hacker would come back.  He just isn't the same without the REAL Maxie and his computer. But with Spinelli's departure the moment has finally arrived, Jason and Sam finally live alone.   Of course, we still know they will get interrupted constantly since everyone under the sun has a key to that place.  Jason didn't hide the fact Spinelli and FOS offered to find Franco from Sam.  I love that he was completely honest with her and doesn't hide anything.  I also love that she told him she didn't care if he went after Franco (she understand Jason wants revenge and honestly so does she) but right now all she wants is Jason to be with her.  She wants to be in his arms and be safe.  Maybe with Spinelli leaving I think it will also remind Sam she needs to pee on that stick and find out what is going on.  I am not sure when Sam tells Jason or takes the test but I do know I saw a spoiler  saying they go to GH to see Dr Lee on 1/12 for an ultrasound so that probably means before then she tells him and probably take the test she has been carrying all around town.  I can't wait to watch!

I know many of us are worried about the future of GH and of daytime TV in general.  I think with the new year that is upon us we need to renew our fight for GH.  The Chew appears to be struggle but they haven't canceled it.  OLTL is in it's final days and while it is really good it will soon be over.  Now we have a new HW and EP which are not from GH and their lack of depth in GH history concern me and the fact RC is coming from OLTL which wasn't ever as good as GH also concerns me.  This only means we need to fight harder and longer and louder.  RC needs to know GH is not OLTL and he better not change it to be.  He also needs to hear JaSam are the most important couple he has on the show.  He needs to be invested in them if he ever hopes to keep this show on the air.  So please join me, join the fight.  Write and call everyday just take a few minutes and do it.  Fight like you have never fought before.  Please remember even though we are fighting our hardest on the comments, letters, emails and tweets be extremely positive about GH but especially JaSam.  We can make TPTB understand!

pink box

Today was an interesting day for GH.  As today's show opened a continuation of NYE episode we didn't get to see Scrubs but we did get to see JaSam.  We also got to see a few other folks...some of which I pay no attention like Ethan and this lady in white- that storyline doesn't do much for my attention span.  But one story I thought was interesting was the attack on Carly today.

Kettle calling the pot black these days in Port Charles when it comes to the Metro Courts NYE bash.  What did Carly do to piss off everyone? I mean, yes, she did lie about Jax but wouldn't anyone?  Sonny was so focused on revenge and rage he was hell bent on killing Jax.  Carly still loves Jax so of course she is going to keep the fact he is alive hidden.  I would have too.  If Jax chose not to tell Alexis (kettle)  or Kate (pot) that was his choice.  He has had no contact with Carly so it isn't like she has solid proof he is not dead.  She probably should have told Michael and Morgan she had some suspicions about Jax still being alive because they cared for him like a father too.  But Alexis, Kate and Sonny SCREW THEM! If Jax didn't contact Alexis or Kate then clearly he didn't care enough about them to really count anyway.  Also everyone is so pissed off at Carly for trying to protect Jax when they should really be pissed at Jax for faking his own death and letting them all grieve for him. Also if Jax really cared all that much for Morgan like he claimed to he should have made contact with Morgan now that he is in military school.  Carly was just doing what she thought Jax would have wanted her to do.  The rest of those people need to get over the fact that their lives are so boring they have to attach themselves to this latest drama.  Honestly I thought those scenes were way over blown given the fact EVERYONE has suspected Jax is still alive. Honestly Alexis (kettle) and Kate(pot) attacking Carly was pathetic.  If either of them had been tipped off to Jax being alive they sure the hell would not have told Carly (his wife).

So how many men were trying to line up to lay in a gurney with Liz today? She is back to her man trapping habits, isn't she ? Two guys in one day?  I honestly didn't pay too much attention to these scenes except noticing the irony in the fact she is so quick to tell anyone else they are a ho when she is literally hoping in in bed with 2 different guys in the same day......Just saying she is no saint - time to stop pretending.

Now for the reason we watch. Sam realized she could be pregnant just as Jason was realizing something else on his own.  Jason was realizing that he needs to really stop chasing Franco and focus on his life.  When Jason woke up and saw Michael he was horrified and terrified that something might happened.  Also Jason called Sam right away.  She dropped the bag in her hand in a flash and raced off to see him.  There is still so much love between them.  Jason finally got his exam but I can't believe Patrick saw nothing wrong with him.  Robin is a way better Dr because she could see in 3 minutes something was wrong with Jason and Patrick didn't see anything???? Really????
I really wish Jason would have seen that box on the chair and asked Sam if she was pregnant.  But I am sure soon enough that news will come out.  The WTD storyline is very short lived I hear and I am thrilled.  This baby is Jason's and they will finally be happy.  I can't wait.   Let's hope 2012 is a great year for them.

Call, email and keep up the support.  Until next time.  !

Knowing Your Limits

Hi Everyone,
Yes, I am back among the living and the post Christmas fizzle.  Before the holidays happens to be probably the worst time of year for my work.  During this time, for some insane reason, I decided to also hire painters to pain the entire interior of my house plus try to decorate for Christmas for my children and of course pack for traveling to see the relatives for the holidays and lets not forget Christmas shop for the most unique gifts for all of my relatives and friends.  Needless to say I knew I was burning the candle at both ends but I still charged ahead and all the stress caught up with me and  I was diagnosed with pneumonia 5 days before I was scheduled to take the whole family on our yearly Christmas travels to see every relative we have in the 4 neighboring states.  Clearly I wasn't listening to my body so it found a way to remind me to know my limits.  Yes, I believe in a higher power and I think God too was trying to remind me I can not do it all. My body and God finally got through to me even if I didn't like it.  Finally when the dishwasher broke that I had just bought 2 weeks before and I Christmas tree angle broke, as well as the top of the tree, because the cat we were watching for a friend decided 4am was a perfect time to climb the tree and attack the angle -  I realized it was time to stop taking life too seriously.  I just took a deep breath and let everything just fall out the best it could. As a result, not every room in the house got painted - January is a lovely month to resume that project,  I did not get fired but was late on a few deadlines, the kids got their Christmas with a angle-less tree but they made a star out of glitter and glue instead, Mr. Whiskers spent the remainder of his visit in the garage,  all the relatives got gift cards - they can buy themselves something unique and whimsical if they choose, we left 4 days later then planned for our trip and most importantly - I just took a nap.  Life went on and I am okay with that.  I realized the message,  I needed to be reminded of my limits.

While resting a lot in bed before my travels, I did catch up on a little GH. I mostly watched JaSam and Scrub scenes and just ignored the rest.  I was working on trying to avoid things that elevated my irritation level so Lante, Minnie Mouse Maxie and boring Liz is trying to trap herself another man crap was out. (BTW, that made my viewing much more pleasant I must confess.)

Sam is also learning her limits.  She can not hold everything inside, she is not super woman.  She, too, is human.  I was glad to see Sam finally told someone about the rape.  Michael was a prefect choice.  Jason overhearing them talking too was perfect.  Jason really needs to find a way to push aside all that angry.  Yes, it is neurological but he needs to get help so he can be there for Sam.  He is the person she needs the most.  He needs to listen to Robin and seek help.  Killing Franco will not erase what he has done to Sam.  Revenge will not fix this.  But Jason listening to Sam and not exploding every 2 seconds will help them get past this.  I have not read a spoiler in about a month but I have a feeling this is just the tip of the iceburg when it come to Jason's rage.  I am not thrilled about that.  He needs to get help  and know his limits.
I did love that they spent Christmas together, though.  They seemed happy for a brief second.  I remember seeing some media shots floating around of them sitting on the coach talking.  I wish they would not have cut those scenes.  But of course I would have been happy if they entire episode was just about JaSam and Scrubs. We have had a wonderful year for those two couples, lets not forget.  We have been given a great gift.  Let's be grateful.

This year has been a long but beautiful year for JaSam fans.  We need to celebrate.  While there have been some ups and downs, their love has remained stronger then ever.  Next year is just beginning to start, I am sure it will bring great drama with it for our couple and in the end they will come out stronger then ever.  I have not read one single spoiler or latest rumors on 2012.  I know there is a chance GH might get canceled or that the new HW and EP might change it so drastically we don't recognize it. But instead of giving into the haters and rumors, I am going to remain hopefully for JaSam and GH to be a strong lasting tradition for years to come.

While  I drove through Santa Fe on my travels, I could not help to think about Garin Wolf's contributions over the last year.  (If you are wondering why the connection - he lives there and flies to LA 1/2 the week for the show).  While some of his storylines seemed to not captivate every fan,  I truly adored what he did for JaSam this year.  He showed everyone JaSam belong together.  He brought back the amazing history of GH in each scene and reminded us it wasn't all about the mob.  It wasn't all about Sonny and there were other characters on the show.  He reminded us why we have been watching this show for all of these years and he brought back the history Grandmother would have been proud of.   I wish he could know how grateful we are as fans for his work in 2011.  I know he'll never read this, but I want to say, THANK YOU GARIN WOLF FOR WHAT YOU DID!!!!!.  I will truly miss his incredible talent as HW of GH.  Thank you!

Happy New Year everyone!.  May this new year bring good health and happiness to all of you.  May sadness and sorrow be something of the past and only good fortune be in your future.

Call to Action

Over the past week there have been a lot of changes in ABC and GH.  There are those that are concerned this shake up is the death of GH.  Others worry this new shake up means the entire canvass of GH will change.  I don't have a crystal ball, nor are my other methods to see into the future are a little rusty but what I do know is it is time to call to action.  General Hospital is an iconic piece of all daytime history, now is not the time to quit on the show.  We, as fans, have helped establish GH as an iconic piece of the daytime line up.  Why quit now?  Why let fears and widely inaccurate and mostly insane rumors suck you in?  We are better then this! We are fans of the most amazing couple in TV.  We rallied when times seemed bleak and kept the faith.  We fought so hard to get them back together, now they are married and Sam is expecting a baby.  This is proof someone is listening to us.  This is proof our fanbase matters to TPTB.  So don't freak out now.  I know this is harder to do then just say.  But now it is time to rally once again and show this new renege  at GH that we matter and we are excited about what the future will hold.  We need to support JaSam and make sure we show them all the love we can.

So this is our formal call to action as fans - it is our duty as fans! Lets get out there and make sure we are heard!
